The National Strength and Conditioning Association is governed by a Board of Directors that is elected by the NSCA membership. The board is comprised of eight members of the NSCA and one elected public member.

In this session from the 2019 NSCA National Conference, Professor and Chair of the Department of Exercise Science at the University of South Carolina, Shawn Arent, discusses different nutritional strategies for optimizing performance versus optimizing body composition. He also reviews the current research for various nutritional approaches and trends in nutritional recommendations.

Tim Suchomel, Assistant Professor of Exercise Science and the Program Director for the Sport Physiology and Performance Coaching graduate program at Carroll University, discusses the literature surrounding the force-velocity curve, identifies potential periodization and programming strategies to improve these characteristics in athletes, and provides example programs to show how to implement different resistance training methods.
